Cosmic Forecast, Aug. 30-Sep. 5

When it’s 1 step forward and 2 steps back, then maybe it’s time to reverse your field? The Full Moon in Pisces is conjunct Pisces’ ruler Neptune on Friday morning. When Neptune is involved, it becomes/remains indefinable. If you can define it, it’s not Neptune. Confused yet? You will be. This be truth, from Michael P. Trust me. There are no mistakes. Peace and love shall conquer all.

The sweet, gentle touch of the ever-renewing virgin turns the rrrrrooooaaaaring king of the beasts into the fawning pussycat at her lap. The daughter of nature promises the pleasures of hearth and home in place of long winter nights all alone. Ahhh, but what be the price to pay for a winter’s stay, you might say. The price, I’m told, is worth your wait in alchemist’s gold. Be patient. You must attain the golden heart before your eyes can truly start to see that love most truly be the key. Stay tuned for more alchemy. Yours truly, Michael P.

High Holy Daze: Drugs and Religion

The wedding at Cana was more than just another party. It was the day Jesus took center stage. Faced with empty mugs, guests brought Jesus six jugs filled with water. Jesus worked his first recorded miracle and revelers partied on with six jugs of excellent wine.

While alcohol is often associated with spirituality and religion, it’s not the only drug mentioned in the bible. Jesus and others were always anointing with oils, healing with oils, saturating with oils, baptizing with oils. Some scholars believe the unguent essences were rich with exotic alkaloids from indigenous herbaria and the oils carried intoxicating drugs into the body through the skin.

The New Cazimi Moon in Leo is on Friday, around 11:00 in the morning. Say goodbye to the lion. He’ll be on his way in one more week, when next we speak. Make the magique happen on Friday morn; or just dream about what’s around the next bend, from now ’til Zen. The closest word for Zen in our vocabulary would be “essence.” True magique exists around us at all times. Every once in awhile the veils part and “believers” get a glimpse of such infinite beauty… And then some of us will never believe to see. This be the truth, from Michael P.

Cosmic Forecast, Aug. 9-Aug. 15

Philosophically, we are the Maya. Perhaps the Maya were an errant tribe of Egyptians, if we consider having “divine” rulers and building pyramids as parallel cultural hallmarks. As an adopted member of Egyptian aristocracy, Moses (the Arian-Age avatar) would have been allowed access to the Egyptian mysteries. He would take that info and incorporate it into the Hebrew mysteries (such as the Zohar and the Qabalah), where it ultimately worked its way into our modern Judeo-Christian “His precious blood” cult ethic, perhaps presenting us with a Mayan human sacrifice parallel? Ring a bell, Pavlov? The two barriers confronting our modern psychological acceptance of the Maya would be their practice of human sacrifice and their image of Quetzalcoatl the Serpent…

Junk Food or Junk Fuel? Both are bad news.

Pushing their pipedream versions of renewable energy, energy independence and national security, Congress and the White House gave us the current law that subsidizes the ethanol industry (and others). It was called the Energy Policy Act of 2005. The disastrous results of that federal foray into capitalist cronyism include our current crisis surrounding ethanol production and the price of corn in the face of a Hundred-Year drought; just after facing last year’s Hundred Year flood.

With a field corn shortfall and crops failing at record pace, Congress is pretending they are actually doing something about it. There are rumblings in Washington of cutting back on the Federal mandate requiring more billions of gallons of ethanol to be dumped…

Healthcare with Legs

In showbiz, when a play or a movie has box-office longevity, we say it has “legs.” The same could be said for traditional medical therapies that have lasted for thousands of years. When we consider that early hunter-gatherers probably noted the good effects of some plants they ate and the bad effects of others, we can reason that herbology has roots (pun intended) going back at least two million years. And if the first human to soothe pain by rubbing where it hurts probably lived in a cave, it’s fair to say therapeutic massage predates buildings. Traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, is over four thousand years old. Written descriptions of traditional medicine date back at least that far.
