Wearable Art Exhibit

April 29-May 1 Wearable Art Exhibit Anderson O’ Brien Fine Art Old Market 1108 Jackson St. Fri. 6 p.m.-9 p.m., Sat. 11 a.m.-9 p.m., Sun. noon to 4 p.m. aobfineart.com New York may be known as the fashion capital of the world, but that doesn’t mean we need to book it to the East Coast for some stylish attire. Enter Asiatica, a clothing company from Kansas City, Mo., which will be showcasing their wearable art for the first time in Omaha. Known for its beautiful fabrics, fine workmanship and timelessly chic style, Asiatica’s clothes are created with vintage Japanese kimono fabrics, contemporary Japanese textiles from NUNO and Italian linens and woolens. The trunk show will feature a collection of beautifully crafted clothes, jewelry and accessories. This trunk show is perfect for you if you’re not a fan of dressing like everyone else in Omaha. Asiatica fabrics are designed for women who like to dress “independently” and are not trend followers. So this weekend, go get your independent style on and show New York that the Midwest can do fashion just as well, maybe even better.
