Tom DeBuse Memorial and Fundraiser

PICK OF THE WEEK May 28 Tom DeBuse Memorial and Fundraiser Hot Shops Art Center, 1301 Nicholas St. Outdoors and indoors, 3-10 p.m. Adults $10 for 10 tickets, Kids $5 for 5 tickets, Age 2 and under FREE, tomdebuse.com   Much like Tom DeBuse’s life, this multifaceted memorial fundraiser will be packed with wonderful music, art, food, drinks and fun. Last February, a tragic accident took Tom from his tight-knit family and abundance of friends, including fiancée Julia and young daughter Lucia. This is a chance to help them and celebrate Tom’s amazing life and positive effect on others, street party style, with live music from Matt Cox, Southpaw Bluegrass Band, Whiskey Pistols and DJ Jacob Thiele of The Faint & Depressed Buttons. A variety of stellar items, including dining gift certificates, spa services, concert and sports tickets, hotel stays, sports equipment and much more, will be part of a silent auction to raise money for Lucia’s college and trust funds. Tom’s artwork will be on sale, with proceeds going to his lovely Julia. There will also be food, a beer garden and kids activities to celebrate Lucia’s 5th birthday. As the social director would’ve said, bring your friends, family and sense of adventure.
