Pick: Rockfest

May 11th
Rockfest w/ Blue October, Sick Puppies and more
Westfair Amphitheater, 22984 Highway 6 in Council Bluffs
1 p.m., $15, etix.com

You'll drag your feet and bitch at significant other and tell them how much you don't want to go to Rockfest, put on by the fine folks at 89.7 the River radio station. Man, I hate 10 Years, you'll say. I used to like Blue October, but that was years ago. I only know one Hollywood Undead song, so why would I go see them play? All the excuses to say no, but you'll end up going and you'll complain some more at the start. The beer is overpriced, the portable toilets are disgusting and everybody here looks lame. Then you'll forget about it. You'll get some aggression out in the pit and you'll soak up the sun. The next thing you'll notice is you're singing along to some rancid Blue October radio rock and you've consumed enough Budweiser products to kick up Anheuser-Busch's quarterly profits up another tenth of a percentage point. Remember when you complained about this? Yeah, well you almost missed out on the best night of your summer.
