Indians is the project of Denmark's Søren Løkke Juul, who has logged time in indie act Other Lives. After several years in that band, Juul decided to take on the challenge of writing and recording his own material. The results paved the way to Indians getting signed to 4AD Records and Juul recording his debut Indians album, Somewhere Else. The album is in turns a lush, ethereal pop record and an intimate bedroom sythn pop album. Acts like Perfume Genius and Youth Lagoon have recently touched upon similar ground, but Juul's songs seem to float in a slightly different sea. These songs long without being lonely. The songs that trade atmospheric, synth-laden soundscapes for a touch of acoustic strumming have also earned Indians a few Bon Iver comparisons, but songs like "I Am Haunted" still carry Juul's otherworldly dreaminess that is hard to call anything but his own sound.
