Betrayal

Sept. 23-Oct. 9 Betrayal Circle Theatre, Central Presbyterian Church, 726 S. 55th St. Doors 6:30 p.m., dinner 7 p.m., show 8 p.m. $23 dinner and show, $13 show only 553.4715, dlmarr@cox.net One doesn’t usually associate the Circle Theatre with searing psychological drama dripping with highbrow sarcasm, but that’s what’s offered with its production of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal. This emotional point, counterpoint of strayed relationships and attenuated betrayals is a critically acclaimed work by one of modern theater’s giants. The Nobel Prize-winning Pinter passed in 2008. Ryle Smith directs, and he, Kevin Barratt and Laura Marr star in this decided departure for the small dinner theater situated in a church basement. You can choose to do the dinner and show together or take your theater a la carte. The menu offers a choice of beef stroganoff, chicken breast or veggie lasagna.
