Luke Polipnick begins Sunday jazz night

Luke Polipnick, Dana Murray, and Max Stehr have launched a weekly jazz night occurring Sundays at the Side Door Lounge, 3530 Leavenworth St. The weekly shows are free and will feature two sets of music, including original compositions and free improvisations. In an email to the Reader, Polipnick says audiences should also expect a focus on the music of artists like Thelonious Monk, Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, and Paul Motian. Guitarist Polipnick will be joined by the percussion skills of Murray and double-bassist Stehr.
