Omaha Fashion Week organizers released their list of designers selected to participate in their August 2012 shows this week. The list includes 12 new designers, four high school students, two designers from outside of Omaha and two designers launching national brands. OFW’s fall showcase will take place from August 20th-25th and each night will include a focus, such as day wear, children’s wear or evening wear.

One big change to the August schedule this year is that designers participating in Saturday’s finale show have not yet been selected. Saturday’s finale will be a “Best of” showcase including the organization’s favorite looks from the entire week. OFW organizers plan to work with designers over the course of the summer to observe their progress before making finale scheduling decisions. OFW tickets go on sale on June 1st at omahafashionweek.com/tickets.

A jewelry trunk show will take place at Omaha’s Dundee Gallery running from Friday, May 4th through May 6th. Locally and nationally-known jewelers will present and sell their work at the gallery’s annual trunk show, including Valerie Spellman Batt, Donna Burdic and Lisa Maciejewski, among others.

Dundee Gallery’s jewelry trunk show will take place at 4916 Underwood Avenue from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 12-5 p.m. on Sunday. Visit dundeegallery.com for more information.
