Digital Leather announces next full-length

* Hot on the heels of the recently-released cassette and download-only Sponge, Digital Leather is already moving on to a new full-length in February. Philadelphia-based FDH Records will release Modern Problems. The label also released 2007 Digital Leather album Blow Machine. Foree recorded the album at his house in midtown Omaha. It was originally intended for release on the now-shuttered Absolutely Kosher Records. Pre-orders of the album will include a download code for a four-song EP, featuring a track with the late Jay Reatard. Pre-ordering will also enter buyers into a drawing for other Digital Leather/FDH goodies, including test pressings of the album. Meanwhile,'s First Listen series recently featured "Young Doctors in Love" off the album. At the Spin page, you can listen and download the track for free.

* Advance warning is needed to make sure Kansas blues-rock duo Moreland & Arbuckle does not slip under Omaha's radar. The band takes the stage at the 21st Saloon, 4727 S. 96th St, Saturday, January 21st for an early 5:30 p.m. show. While the 21st is known by Omaha's blues fans, Moreland & Arbuckle's brand of swampy, raw, ragged harmonica-laced ravings should appeal to fans of the Black Keys and other similarily garage-bred rock acts.

* Ex-Eagle Seagull frontman Eli Mardock is sharing three songs off his solo debut, which is due out in 2012. There's not much information on on this album, besides the songs. The album's title is slated to be Everything Happens for the First Time.

* Thunder Power are starting to leave a trail of bread crumbs leading eventually to the release of their new full-length studio album, Death, Love & the Cycle. The latest bread crumb to be dropped is the video for the song "Foreign Soil (Who I Am)". The video is compiled from footage chronicling the band's day-to-day travels while they were on a West Coast tour this summer. Expect the album to be released sometime in 2012.

* Local concert promoter Rad Kadillac just upgraded their website at The company also manages and books shows for local artists. Katie Hottovy Designs spearheaded the revamped site.
