Digital Leather album imminent

* Digital Leather's next release Infinite Sun is now somewhere in the wide world of shipping. The records will first be sent to San Diego's Volar Records, the label releasing the record. The first batch of special edition vinyl then goes to people who pre-ordered the record via Digital Leather's Kickstarter.com fund raising campaign. Kickstarter donors should also receive a download code from the band, as part of their reward for contributing.

* No Omaha summer is complete without a stop to the annual Jazz on the Green summer concert series. The free, outdoor jazz concerts continue Thursday, July 28th with a performance by the Sugar Thieves. The series has settled nicely into Turner Park at Midtown Crossing, its home since last year. The Sugar Thieves play what is billed as a high energy bluesy show, featuring singer Meredith Moore and saxophonist Shea Marshall, who can play two saxophones at once. The show starts at 7 p.m.

* House of Loom, 1012 South 10th St., has put its first weekend into the books and is ready to settle in, co-owner Brent Crampton says. The extension of the loom DJ night into a nightclub built on the idea of artful social interaction is set to be a hub for the local DJ scene. Friday night's opening was a scorcher - one of the bar's three air-conditioning condensers was stolen from the roof on the eve of the opening. By Saturday, a rented air conditioning unit helped cool things down. More than 400 people showed up Friday. House of Loom hosts its first version of loom, its namesake event, Thursday, August 4th featuring DJ Ala. Electronic music group Designer Drugs plays Friday, August 14th and a grand opening will be held Saturday, August 20th. The venue opens Wednesday through Sunday at 4 p.m. For more information, visit houseofloom.com
