Brotherhood Moves to 21st

Important notes if you’re reading this Wednesday, June 6: Seattle Americana artist Zoe Muth plays Barley Street Tavern June 6. The Los Angeles Daily News praises Muth’s latest disc for ”real poetry, ingenious wit and pedal steel perfection.” See zoemuth.com.

Royal Southern Brotherhood at 21st Saloon
And after a Wednesday, June 6, show at Lincoln’s Zoo Bar, blues super group The Royal Southern Brotherhood (RSB) plays at a rescheduled venue, The 21st Saloon, Thursday, June 7. Pacific Northwest soul-blues man Terry Evans opens at an early 5 p.m. time. RSB combines the considerable talents of Cyril Neville, Devon Allman and Mike Zito. The trio met in New Orleans last year and turned their jam sessions into a full-fledged debut disc and tour that is the talk of the roots scene. Rockin’ and soulful with some fierce three-part harmonies. RSB plays blues festivals and tours Europe later this summer, so the chance to see a collaboration of this caliber in small clubs is a real treat. See royalsouthernbrotherhood.com.

Zoo Bar
Former Paladins’ guitarist Dave Gonzalez and his Stone River Boys hit Lincoln’s Zoo Bar Saturday, June 9, 6-9 p.m. Powerhouse guitarist Walter Trout plugs in Tuesday, June 12, 6-9 p.m. Austin honky-tonker Dale Watson hits the stage next Wednesday, June 13, 6-9 p.m.
Mark your calendars now for Legendary Austin guitarist-singer-songwriter Jon Dee Graham’s return with his Austin band Thursday, June 28, 6 p.m. Graham’s latest disc, Garage Sale, is available for preview and purchase at jondeegraham.com. Graham masterfully distills personal truths and the highs and lows of easily recognizeable everday experiences into rock poetry that one writer calls “the truth in three minutes.”
