Get Out, Support Live Music

As mentioned in last week’s column, attendance has been off at local blues shows. To keep the scene alive and thriving takes commitment on the part of the fans as well as the venues. Get out and see some live music.

Lorde makes big impression with first concert in area

Lorde made a lasting impression with her 2013 debut album Pure Heroine and its lead single the inescapable and exceptionally good “Royals”. The 17 year old singer has a hypnotic voice with catchy and addictive lyrics and on Saturday Sep 27 Lorde brought her talents to the Stir Concert Cove in Council Bluffs. Lincoln’s Zoo Bar keeps the blues alive in the metro with multiple national blues acts playing there each week. Hector Anchondo Band is the winner of the 2014-15 Nebraska Blues Challenge held Sunday, Sept. 21, at The 21st Saloon.
