Planet Power: Nov. 28 - Dec. 4, 2013

AUM… In our last 24 hours on the planet we are all mystics. At that time, it’s just a matter of whether you are a happy mystic or a sad mystic. If you have no vocabulary for the changes at that time, you will feel/be lost. If you have no mystical experience with which to relate — you will be swept along by the winds of (your) fate. Time to close your eyes to this world. It is time to meditate on your spiritual rebirth. Look for the Sagittarius New Moon around moonset on Moonday, and “see” what your dreams are worth. AUM…

SAGITTARIUS (11.21-12.20) It’s your world around moonset on Moonday night… Have you guessed…

Planet Power: Nov. 21 - 27, 2013

Happy Thanksgiving. Let’s be nice to each other and cultivate warm thoughts. You are what you think…

i SAGITTARIUS (11.21-12.20) Welcome into the sign of the prophet, prophecy and all tall tales; wild and divine. Tell/write me what’s on your mind, and why it’s so hard to find. It’ll be a short story, right? Gotcha! Sagittarius also rules humor, wit and composition. You LOVE telling ($elling?) stories — and if you tell ’em well enough (to $ell ’em) and long enough, they’ll sometimes seem true for/to you, too. Ask O.J. Simpson. Your ruler, Jupiter — which also rules freedom — is retrograding conjunct O.J.’s Sun. Maybe he’ll be sprung by next spring, when Jupiter moves direct……

Planet Power: Nov. 14 - 20, 2013

This issue marks my 17th year here at The “READER.” Thanks to John, Eric, my beloved Carrie, et al., for all your help, encouragement and understanding. I owe you all more than I could ever pay back! Since the passing of Sue Moon, you’ve not only made me Nebraska’s best known astrologer — you’ve made me Nebraska’s only known astrologer. From MOJOPO, Servant of the Sun, High Priest of Nature and Guardian of the Twilight Well. “May you never thirst.”

SCORPIO (10.22-11.20) What a trip! You’ve got one week to pull/put yourself together for your winter program/agenda, and then the spotlight turns to other things…and nobody cares anymore. Decide whom you love by — or on…

Planet Power: November 7 - 13, 2013

The new Aquarian-Age astrology is/will be ruled by the planet Uranus (yeah, I’ve heard that joke before). Traditional astrology, prior to the Uranian “discovery” in 1750, was ruled by Saturn, and was more of a study of chronology, helping to determine a more harmonious way of working through nature’s cycles. The new Uranian astrology is/will be believed to be a path — and tool — toward forming a more creative psychological outlook. The next 4 months afford opportunities for some of the best usage of astrological info; from Scorpio (the sign ruling enchantment and the mysteries of life and death), through Aquarius (the sign ruling the unusual, the unexpected, the eccentric, the bizarre and any occult advantage). I owe…

Planet Power: Oct. 31 - Nov. 6, 2013

Happy Halloween! Let your subconscious desires flow as the twilight fades into the black of the night of the year. Don’t fear the night. You have friends, parties and the desire to be naughty to get you through. Welcome into and through the New Moon in Scorpio — which is exactly conjunct Saturn and just finishing a conjunction with the retrograde Mercury — as you turn your clock back to Standard Time. Something or somebody from the past is due to haunt you. Happy Halloween!

SCORPIO (10.22-11.20)  Everything seems alright…always a bad sign during Mercury retrograde in Scorpio. Maybe it’s not really such a bad sign? Maybe everything is just forcing you to go deeper, below…

Planet Power: Oct. 24 - 30, 2013

Welcome to the sign of Scorpio, where we study the fruit of our meditations on the regenerating mysteries of life and death. My departed mother came to me under this very pomegranate tree, and presented me with the apples of her experience. In a strong voice, she answered my questions concerning life and death. She said, “You are guided, my son,” reminding me that even though I feel like everyone’s father, I’m also everyone’s child. And then she said, “When death is nothing, nothing is nothing. Finally, we are free.” This be the truth, from my mother and me.

SCORPIO (10.22-11.20) It can’t be good… Well, perhaps in potential? Right now, for you, everything’s a question…

Planet Power - July 4, 2013

Why does the season of the Sun (summer) start with the sign ruled by the Moon? Party like the patriotic dogs you are, and then wake up on Moonday the 8th, clean up the mess and put it all back together. It’ll be a crazy week, with the New Moon on the 8th conjunct a retrograde Mercury. It’ll be time to pick up the pieces of your puzzle and go home.

CANCER (6.20-7.21)  This is your weekend, leading up to an early Moonday morning New Moon in your sign, conjunct Mercury in retrograde. Wake up with the Sun and Moon, look beneath the illusion and know who you are, what you can accomplish, and what you’re…
