Sunday Roadhouse Turns 10

The Sunday Roadhouse celebrates its 10th anniversary with Ray Wylie Hubbard. Writer's Correction: this is a Sunday Roadhouse production and not a co-production. Hubbard is a highly respected Texas musician, touring in support of his most recent disc Grifter’s Hymnal. His press bio says “Ray Wylie Hubbard is…the kind of scrapper poet with the devil-may-care wherewithal to write both ‘lay down a groove like a monkey gettin’ off’ and ‘shakes the mortal coil round my amaranthine soul’ into the same song – and the lethal charm and chops to pull it off.” Hubbard’s career spans decades from Jerry Jeff Walker’s 1973 recording of his song “Up Against the Wall (Redneck Mother)” to his recent co-write with Hayes Carll, “Drunken Poet’s Dream.”
Hubbard plays Dean Dobmeier’s and Gary Grobeck’s 10th Anniversary Sunday Roadhouse show at The Waiting Room Sunday, Aug. 25, 5 p.m. See sundayroadhouse.com.

The high-powered Southern Hospitality headlines the event featuring J.P. Soars, Damon Fowler and Victor Wainwright.
