Summertime Blues

Summer days and nights continue to offer plenty of live music options. Jazz on the Green continues with Nebraska Blues Challenge winners Josh Hoyer & The Shadowboxers' horn-driven soul-blues originals and covers Thursday, Aug. 8, at Midtown Crossing. Music starts at 7:30 p.m.

New Blues Women
The 21st Saloon offers a cool double-bill of exceptionally talented female artists with the soulful Cassie Taylor opening for the U.K.’s fiery Bex Marshall Thursday, Aug. 8., 5:30-8:30 p.m. Check out bexmarshall.co.uk.
Then Lincoln’s Zoo Bar hosts Dana Fuchs next Wednesday, Aug. 14, 6-9 p.m. Fuchs is a New York-based blues-rock singer touring in support of her new Ruf Records' disc Bliss Avenue. Fuchs’ gritty, soulful voice isn’t afraid of getting raw and dirty. Her dynamic, sexy persona matches her vocal prowess. Aug. 10 Sumtur Blues Fest
Inphase Audio has put together a big day of local and regional blues acts at Sumtur Amphitheater, Saturday, Aug. 10. Gates open at 11 a.m. and tickets range from $10 for lawn seating to $20 for reserved seating and $40 for a VIP package that includes a backstage pass and catered food.
