Pick: The Millions

July 26
The Millions w/ UUVVWWZ
The Waiting Room Lounge, 6212 Maple St.
9 p.m., $10, onepercentproductions.com

The Millions surprised many Lincoln and Omaha fans when they reformed for a few shows last year. Now just as quietly as they re-emerged, the Millions will once again recede into the shadows after this club show and an Saturday, August 17th appearance at the Maha Music Festival. The Waiting Room show will celebrate the band's M Is For Millions album, which is being re-released by Randy's Alternative Music. The band's big pop masterpiece is a centerpiece for vocalist Lori Allison, who floats through the driving alternative rock/dream-pop soundscapes with a ghostly ease. The re-issue will include a whole second disc of outtakes and other archival session material. The version of the album on the first disc will replicate a cassette release that predated the 1991 Smash Records release of the album.
