The eighth annual celebrated fall excursion brings sixteen new and familiar ceramic artists to its four stops. At The Florence Mill, five potters show their wares: Susan McGilvrey, Tom Quest, Tracy Shell, all from Omaha; Bill Gossman from Minnesota, and Tara Dawley from Missouri.  A mile northwest, John Dennison hosts Mike Bose from Iowa, Naomi Keller and David Harris from Missouri with pottery for cooking; decorative sculptures, hanging platters and masks. Hand-sculpted lizards, linear geometric forms, craggy surfaces, hidden chambers, birded lids and colorful glazes distinguish their work.  In Ft. Calhoun, Sandy Kucera welcomes Travis Hinton from South Dakota, who works with salt firing and ash glazes, creating unique functional work; and Eric Knoche from North Carolina, who hand builds puzzles, sloping slabs, and upright floor vases. At Big Table Studios, Liz Vercruysse and John Martelle feature clay artists interested in firing with wood, using native clays and local materials. Totems, sculptures, teapots, plates, bowls, vases and all matter of daily use items reflect the blush of warm, wood fire colors. Guests are invited to tour their kiln and to enjoy the smells and tastes of their wood-fired pizza oven. They host clay artists JD Jorgensen from Minnesota, Zac Spates from Wisconsin and Doug Schroder from Missouri Valley, IA.
