Noah's Ark Was A Spaceship is back to a three-piece line-up, as they headline an all-local bill featuring the return of Lincoln's the Ghost Runners alongside emerging acts Universe Contest and Gordon. Noah's Ark caught fire when they first started regularly playing shows in 2009. The band plays a noisy ode to 90s alternative rock and the college radio staples that took root shortly after grunge's explosion. Sonic Youth, Mike Watt, Dinosaur Jr. all sound like obvious starting points, but Noah's Ark seem to have a knack for writing memorable songs without relying on past acts to guide their artistic impulses. The band hasn't released anything since 2010's Hanga-Fang, so the hope is that new shows in 2013 could also result in the unveiling on new material.
