If you saw past Les Femmes Folles art exhibits at RNG Gallery and Peerless Gallery in 2011 you have a lot to look forward to with this third event curated by Megan Loudan Sanders and Sally Deskins. Deskins, the founder of Les Femmes Folles, an arts organization devoted to the recognition and promotion of regional women artists, their issues and events, is the author of the self-published The Women, 2011, a book of images and selected interviews from the first year of her blog.
Voice features 11 “wild women who showcase moving, provocative work” from a unique point-of-view in various media. Artists include Wanda Ewing, Deskins, Marcia Joffe-Bouska, Kristin Lubbert, Jewel Noll, Melanie Pruitt, Amy Quinn, Megan Loudon Sanders, Trudie Teijink, Trilety Wade and Ella Weber who engage a wide range of subjects ‘”from the sweet to seductive, from the political to domestic.” They will elaborate on their work in a special Art Talk at New BLK next Wednesday.
