Kurt Neumann and Sam Llanas formed BoDeans in Wisconsin and made a mark in 1986 with their T-Bone Burnett-produced debut Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams. The band's early sound of roots rock combined with the burgeoning college/alternative rock sound. The band finally caught a degree of prominence when they reunited with Burnett on 1993's Go Slow Down. Single "Closer To Free" led the way, as it was used as the theme song to the television show, Party of Five. After 1996, the band's two principle members cut solo albums before reuniting in 2004 for another five BoDeans albums. Along the way, the band has continued to appeal to fans of mature alternative pop and Americana sounds.
