Omaha Science Café

Oct. 5 Omaha Science Café Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St., 7-8 p.m., FREE, unmc.edu/sciencecafe With the constant media battle between MSNBC and Fox News, or Sarah Palin’s plight to prove conservative women are more attractive than liberal women, we as a nation definitely have a high school cafeteria way of handling the issues amongst political parties. This installment of the Omaha Science Café explores these dynamic relationships and the possibility of a psychological skew when determining our political values. The event features Dr. John Hibbing, a prominent political scientist who has been featured on “The Daily Show” to discuss behavioral genetics and how they affect social and political behavior. Science Cafés are held the first Tuesday of every month and utilize coffee shops or pubs for discussion forums. This event is free and the first 50 visitors receive a slice of pizza. There’s nothing more American than that.
