Omaha Rollergirls vs. Brew City Bruisers

April 2 Omaha Rollergirls vs. Brew City Bruisers Mid-America Center, 1 Arena Way, Council Bluffs Doors 6 p.m., Whistle at 7 p.m., $10 ADV, $12 day-of omaharollergirls.org Raw, rough and buff, the Omaha Rollergirls are gearing up for another smackdown on the flat-track this Saturday. Omaha’s competitive roller derby team features female skaters with nicknames like Anna Maniac and Molly Massacre taking on the formidable Brew City Bruisers of Milwaukee. Movies like “Whip It” have helped popularize the slow-building comeback of the sport, with this modern version consisting of two-minute jams where the goal is to fight through the pack and lap the other team. The AAA club warms up with a 7 p.m. match, and the All-Stars roll onto the track around 8:15 p.m. The Rollergirls’ home opener sold out, so be sure to snatch your tickets for this one early!
