Omaha’s First Friday happens all around town. The grand opening of Gallery 72’s new space at 1806 Vinton Street is Feb. 1, 5:00 - 9:00 pm. The Vinton Street art district’s Gallery 72 presents Mary Zicafoose: Tapestries and Prints. Nationally known for pushing the boundary of the ancient Ikat technique in contemporary tapestry, Zicafoose will give a Gallery Talk Tuesday, Feb. 19, 7:00 - 8:00 pm. The Old Market’s Artists’ Cooperative Gallery explores the theme of “Relationships” in a variety of interpretations. Among those showing are Co-op members Lori Elliot-Bartle, Marcia Joffe-Bouska, Linda Hatfield, Judith Anthony Johnston, and Pete Wroblewski. The Feb. 1 reception at 405 S. 11th St. is 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Benson’s Sweatshop Gallery, 2727 N. 62nd St. will be hosting "I Wanna Sing a Song. I Have a Song to Sing: A Night with Club No Quiet," as its First Friday featured event. Opening 8:00 -11:00 pm, Club No Quiet will launch their record label by showcasing music by Howard, George Glass, Rock Paper Sisters, Sister Kisser, and The Wayward Little Satan Daughters.
