Live at Maha: Thao & The Get Down Stay Down

It's interesting to hear the change in the sound of the Maha Music Festival once the lineup moves from local and regional acts to national, regularly touring indie acts like Thao & Get Down Stay Down. Once Thao Nguyen and her band took the stage, the professionalism oozed. Songs were arranged intricately on many songs with a cool confidence. The band mostly plays tuneful indie rock/folk, but smartly buttresses many songs with noisy guitar squalls, polyrhythmic keyboard lines and a steady backbeat.
