FASH FLOOD

Do you follow event, interior design or fashion blogs? Consider yourself self-motivated and fashion forward? Two local businesses might be looking for you.

Local brand communication and event production firm STEP Group, Inc. and bridal designer and blogger Princess Lasertron are looking for interns in the Omaha area. For more information on STEP Group’s internship, email info@stepgroupinc.com with your resume, two references and an event proposal introducing their team to your brand: You. To apply for an internship with Princess Lasertron, email meg@princesslasertron.com with a little information about yourself, your availability, and your qualifications.

T-Shirt aficionados take note: In the past few months, two new retailers have popped up in Omaha’s Old Market and North Downtown areas.

The first is Curbside Clothing, a t-shirt print shop and gallery where clothing lovers can find original designs from local designers such as limited edition totes from Miss Cake. Visit curbsideclothing.com for more information or stop in-store at 505 South 11th Street in the Old Market.

Second, is North Downtown’s Saddle Creek Shop, a retail store from locally loved and internationally-known indie label Saddle Creek Records. The shop's grand opening is Saturday, July 23rd at 721 North 14th Street from Noon to 6 p.m. The shop will carry t-shirts, records and limited edition merchandise from Saddle Creek artists. Stop by during the grand opening event for live performances from Orenda Fink, The Mynabirds (solo set) and more. Visit saddlecreekshop.com for more information.

Reinvent your summer wardrobe: Local boutique owner Cora, of Coriander in the Old Market, continues to impress with a project called Reinvent. The project seeks to breathe new life into old things by repurposing used clothing and accessory items into trendy and original one-of-a-kind pieces. Over the past week, Cora posted photos of newly re-dyed vintage gloves and must-see headbands made from vintage silk scarves on Coriander’s Facebook page. Omahans should stop in-store at 1028 Howard St (Old Market Passageway) to see and purchase goods from this renewable project.
