FASH FLOOD

LOCAL FASH Tickets for Omaha Fashion Week are on sale now, with prices ranging from $15-$25 for general admission tickets up to $1000 for a VIP table that seats six with all the luxurious amenities. New to OFW’s ticketing system this year is the option for attendees to select their seat for VIP and reserved seating. Planning on attending? Buy your ticket today, as OFW’s twitter account (@OmahaFashionWk) reported on May 28th that 75 percent of VIP tables had already sold out less than 24 hours after going on sale. OFW 2011 is August 22nd-27th and ticket information is available at omahafashionweek.com. NATIONAL FASH Trend Watch: After being worn by Lady Gaga’s dancers on the most recent season finale of Saturday Night Live, it’s evident that harnesses are already a huge trend for summer 2011. The controversial songstress’ shirtless male backup dancers wore custom gold painted leather harnesses handmade by New York designer Zana Bayne. Over the past week, Alexander McQueen’s 2012 McQ resort collection also featured the trend, but in orange leather paired with scuba-inspired daywear. Shoppers can pick up one of Zana’s harnesses at zanabayne.com, which range from $100 for a basic harness to $415 for her more complicated designs. GLOBAL FASH After designing a line of sneakers for Louis Vuitton and becoming a fixture at all the major fashion weeks, rumor has it that Kanye West is currently working on a fashion range in Paris for spring 2012. The rapper was named “Stylemaker of the Year” by the Accessories Council in 2010 and most recently was in the news for sporting a women’s Céline blouse while performing at Coachella. Here’s to a celebrity collection that seems at the very least more promising than Lindsay Lohan’s collection for Ungaro, if solely based on West’s affinity for the designs of Marc Jacobs and Phoebe Philo.
