Junkstock

A reminder for vintage, antique and junk enthusiasts –Junkstock will take place this weekend, June 22nd-24th on a historic dairy farm located at 315 South 192nd Street (keep an eye out for the aqua VW Junkstock bus). Junkstock is a gathering of vintage vendors coming together for one weekend only for a junk-shopping extravaganza. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission costs $5 per person and children 12 and under can attend for free.

Be a Lucky’s Vintage Model

On Saturday, June 23rd stop by Lucky’s Vintage from 6-9 p.m. to participate in a photo shoot with photographer Chevy Anderson. No prior modeling experience necessary, just stop by the shop at 2212 South 13th Street in Omaha. The Lucky’s staff will assist you in finding a look that fits your style to snap some fun, vintage-inspired photos (Lucky’s notes: Participating in this photo opportunity grants them permission to use your image in their advertising). 

A Vanity Affair 2012 “Into the Wild”

One of Omaha’s favorite fashion events returns this year as a benefit for Project Madagascar at the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo. Locals should save the date for A Vanity Affair 2012 “Into the Wild”, which will take place on Saturday, September 15th.

In the meantime, aspiring models should plan to attend a casting call for this event on Saturday, July 7th at Studio 6, located at 4383 Nicholas Street in Omaha. Models should bring a headshot, full body shot and their measurements and should wear heels under 4 inches, a black tank top and dark pants or jeans and no heavy makeup. Photographer Christopher Tierney will be on site to photograph all auditioning models.

The DC Centre’s Summer Bridal Show

Save the date for DC Centre’s Summer Bridal Show, which takes place on Sunday, July 8th from 12-4 p.m. DC Centre strives to provide newly engaged couples with the opportunity to meet with and draw inspiration from nearly 100 vendors attending the event. The show is free to attend and takes place at the DC Centre, located at 11830 Stonegate Drive in Omaha.
