Omaha Craft Mafia Summer Kick Off

On Friday, June 1st, stop by the Soul Desires Bookstore to meet the Omaha Craft Mafia. As part of the Omaha First Friday gallery walk, the OCM will be kicking off summer with a 1920s Speakeasy-themed event. The OCM ladies will be displaying their wares for sale, including jewelry, pottery, handbags, knitting, hand printed cards, reclaimed wood goods and more. Along with meeting the mafia, attendees can stop by their DIY crafting table to create their own flapper-inspired feather headband or original accessory to take home.

The Soul Desires Bookstore is located at 1026 Jackson Street in Omaha’s Old Market. The OCM summer kick off will take place from 6-9 p.m.

NAP + Goodwill Omaha Donation Drive

Clean out those closets! The Nebraska AIDS Project is teaming up with Goodwill Industries of Omaha for a donation drive on Saturday, June 2nd. The concept is simple; all donations will benefit NAP clients in the form of a voucher that can be used at any Goodwill store. The more donations gathered, the more vouchers NAP receives.

The mission of the Nebraska AIDS Project is to lead the community in the fight to overcome HIV/AIDS and its stigma through education, supportive services and advocacy. The donation drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the south parking lot of the NAP, located at 250 South 77th Street, Suite A (full disclosure: I work for Goodwill Industries of Omaha).
