Aksarben RibFest Announces New Omaha Rib Festival
The aroma of world champion barbecue ribs and the sounds of blues, country and rock music will fill the air on August 16, 17 and 18 from 11 a.m to 11 p.m. each day at the inaugural Aksarben Ribfest.  Hosted by the Aksarben Village at 67th & Center, the Aksarben Ribfest will feature four world-class barbecue teams, each cooking up their own distinct styles and tastes. Upcoming Wine Events in the Metro
Did you get the memo?  Apparently, March is the month for wine in the Metro area.  Here are just two of the big wine events you can attend and help some great causes.
Easter Seals wine event March 3, from 5-10 p.m. at the Embassy Suites, LaVista. Proceeds support Easter Seals Nebraska programs and services, helping individuals with disabilities have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities. vinNEBRASKA wine event March 31, from 5-9 p.m. Known as Omaha's original wine event, the vinNEBRASKA wine event has become one of the city's most successful fundraisers, having raised nearly $2 million for local charities since its inception. Hors d' oeuvres from select Midtown Crossing restaurants will also be available for guests to sample. All event proceeds will benefit youth-serving organization, The Partnership For Our Kids.
