Help Save Chisholm Farm

There are many reasons why the food scene in Omaha can be described as great. But I would say that it is our connection to local food and the farmers that provide their goods and wares to be one of the strongest, greatest connections between diners, chefs, restaurants and community. So when a farm is in need of help, we can use our own resources to reach out and give back.

The Chisholm Family farm is in need your help. You have seen and probably chatted with the Chisholm family at your Farmer’s Market. With a cruel winter and a string of bad luck, they are suffering from many hardships. A little trouble is expected in the life of a farmer but when a little turns into way too much, support from those around becomes necessary. You can join a heroic internet “Barnraising” effort to save the Chisholm Dairy Farm by donating to http://www.pledgie.com/campaigns/19357'. For more information on the Chisholm Farm, check out, www.hartkeisonline.com/2013/02/27/cruel-winter-chisholm-family-farm/.

Also on Saturday March 16, 2013, Ahmad's has joined in and is adding his support for Farmer Chisholm and his family. Ahmad's is dedicating a portion of the day's sales to the Chisholm family farm. So plan to come to Ahmad's in the Old Market for Delicious Food, Fun, Laughter, Belly Dancers and great music and friendship. This evening is about enjoying good food and showing our community support for the Chisholm Family. Ahmad’s Persian Cuisine is located at 1006 Howard Street.
