Looking for a great new sandwich spot, Firehouse Subs is announcing their first location in Omaha at 721 S. 72nd St. They are open Sunday through Thursday 10:30a.m. - 9:00p.m. and Friday and Saturday  from 10:30a.m. - 10:00 p.m. The Firehouse Sub chain is 566 stores big and was founded by firefighters yet this is the first in our area. The restaurant has a mural on the wall depicting the fire that occurred at Omaha’s Grand Central Hotel in 1878. According to their press release, In 2005, Firehouse Subs created the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, life-saving equipment, and educational opportunities to first-responders and public safety organizations. Through the non-profit 501(c)(3), Firehouse Subs has given $5.2 million to hometown heroes in 33 states and Puerto Rico, including more than $21,300 in Nebraska.

Tommy Colina’s kitchen is officially open in West Omaha. The restaurant is much bigger than their midtown location and there is a great bar area with fully stocked bar options.
