Ingredient will open its second restaurant in Omaha, at One Pacific Place in the space vacated by California Pizza Kitchen. The Kansas City-area restaurant boasts a repertoire of fresh food made fast. The company’s first Omaha outlet opened several months ago at the Midtown Crossing development. Nebraska Brewing Co.’s Melange a Trois won a bronze medal in the wood- and barrel-aged strong beers category at the 2010 Great American Beer Festival held Sept. 16-18, in Denver. Judges rank the top three brews in 75 categories. The Nebraska Brewing Co.’s beer placed third in a competitive category among 77 contenders. California’s Island Brewing Co.’s Barrel Aged Big Island took home the gold. Schmaltz, a San Francisco Brewery, took second place with its He’brew Ripa on Rye. Some of Nebraska Brewing Co.’s beers won awards at the 2010 U.S. Open Beer Championship. This year the brewery also began distributing to the East Coast and Oregon.
