Bad Luck Charm w/ The Sons of the 49’r

Oct. 8 Bad Luck Charm w/ The Sons of the 49’r 49’r Lounge, 4824 Dodge St. 9 p.m., 554.5841 myspace.com/badluckcharm13 The Bad Luck Charm will play a homecoming show of sorts at the on-again then off-again 49’r Lounge. BLC’s brand of “down and dirty rockin’ punk straight from the Great Plains” is the perfect opportunity to shake your fist at CVS at least one more time. Its been quite some time since the band’s heydays at the 9’r so don’t take this show for granted; the band is billing this as, possibly, its last show, according to its Myspace page. BLC’s sound is definitely a throwback to the early days of punk, reminiscent of the New York Dolls with soaring guitar licks and a driving beat. Opening for them are special guests, aptly named, The Sons of the 49’r. Lets make this final time with our favorite neighborhood bar one to remember, sending it off in the same fashion that brought the 9’r to musical relevance in Omaha: a maelstrom of punk bliss. — James Derrick Schott
