Kaneko, the “Open Space for Your Mind” site in the Old Market, features his acclaimed opera design work. He first plunged into that world with Opera Omaha's Madama Butterfly. Next came Beethoven's Fidelio for the Opera Company of Philadelphia. He's now at work on Mozart's The Magic Flute for the San Francisco Opera. See original sketches, photographs and video from the Madama production this Thursday at the Kaneko Bow Truss. Hear Kaneko discuss his process with Madama stage director Leslie Swackhamer. Leading soprano Mihoko Kinoshita, who plays the title role in Opera Omaha's upcoming Madama revival, will perform an aria. Enjoy an exclusive boutique-fashion show of original costumes.
