To Live Forever: Egyptian Treasures from the Brooklyn Museum

Joslyn’s newest exhibit is comprised over more than 100 objects that explore beliefs about life, death and the afterlife. Many of these are thousands of years old and address what were everyday aspects of life in ancient Egypt, including the practice of mummification, the conduct of a funeral and various types of tombs.

Amy Rummel, Communications Coordinator for Joslyn, said it's been thirteen years since the Museum has presented an exhibition of Egyptian artifacts.

“Ancient Egyptian culture is so rich and so full of fascinating myths and beliefs, striking art and architecture, and mystery. It's a never-ending journey for anyone with even a little bit of interest in the ancient world,” she said.

The exhibit features three mummies, sarcophagi, masks and gold. Related programming will include lectures by some of the world’s foremost experts on Egypt and mummification.
