Friday night, Nov. 9, the annual OEAA music nominees showcase hits the streets of Benson. This is always a fun event with the chance to see over 35 local bands at five venues for a mere $10. Event wristbands are available at the door at The Waiting Room, Star Deli, Barley Street Tavern, The Sydney and P.S. Collective inside The Pizza Shoppe. It’s a great way to sample the music of bands and genres you don’t normally listen to or support your favorite artists. Pittsley’s Rockin’
Oklahoma blues-rocker Dustin Pittsley hits Lincoln’s Zoo Bar Wednesday, Nov. 7, 6-9 p.m. and The 21st Saloon Thursday, Nov. 8, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Jon Schroeder of Church Studios tracked Pittsley's new disc and says “Pittsley’s old soul can convert a new listener to a loyal fan in just a few songs…He’s just got IT.” See Reverbnation.com/TheDustinPittsleyBand.

Zoo Bar Blues
Other notable shows coming up at the Zoo include Billy Bacon’s Tex-Mex-rockabilly-swing Thursday, Nov. 8, 6-9 p.m., plus Friday, Nov. 9, and Saturday, Nov. 10, after 9 p.m. Tijuana Gigolos play the 5-7 p.m. happy hour show Friday. Chicago bluesman Eddy Clearwater returns Wednesday, Nov. 14, 6-9 p.m. Wild rockabilly with the Red Elvises is on tap Thursday, Nov. 15, 6-9 p.m. The Bel Airs throw down their boogie blues, vintage rock and N’awlins R&B Friday, Nov. 16, after 9 p.m. Tommy Castro rocks the joint Tuesday, Nov. 27, 6-9 p.m.

Sunday Roadhouse
Dean Dobmeier and Gary Grobeck present Lake Street Dive this Sunday, Nov. 11, at Slowdown. Lake Street Dive is a band that formed in Boston. Dobmeier says they deliver infectious, high-energy indie-pop with great harmonies. Music starts at 5 p.m. See sundayroadhouse.com.

21st Saloon Thursdays
Thursday 5:30 p.m. blues shows at The 21st include Alligator Records’ Eddy Clearwater Nov.  15, a special show with Rick Estrin & the Nightcats Wednesday, Nov. 21, and “Braille Blues Daddy” Bryan Lee Nov. 29. Jim Suhler is up Dec. 6.

Hot Notes
Runny Nose Pete is at Sullivan’s, 40th & Farnam, Friday, Nov. 9, after 9 p.m. That’s blistering guitarist Steve Byam and friends getting their mojo workin’ on some gutbucket blues.
