Killer Blow announces March tour

* Killer Blow, the punkish trash-pop duo of Baby Tears' Todd VonStup and his wife Genie Molkentine, are heading out on tour with Micro Knife, the band formerly known as Sun Settings. The tour kicks off Friday, March 15th at the Slowdown, 729 North 14th St., then sets off for eight dates across the upper Midwest.

* Mynabirds' Laura Burhenn has picked up a side gig on one of the most anticipated reunion tours of the year. Burhenn will be part of the band on the upcoming Postal Service reunion tour, which includes dates at this year's Coachella Music Festival in Indio, Calif. Postal Service is the electro-pop project of Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard and electronic producer Jimmy Tamborello. This year marks the 10th anniversary of their only album, Give Up. Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis, another familiar former Omaha music scene face, will also be part of the touring line-up. Lewis appeared on the Postal Service's album back in 2003.

* Stir Cove at Harrah's will reveal its full schedule next month, but the first show out of the gate has She & Him hitting up the Council Bluffs' outdoor venue on Thursday, June 27th. She & Him is the 60s pop-indebted duo of actress Zooey Deschanel and singer/songwriter M Ward. Their third album, appropriately titled Vol. 3, comes out later this spring.  Additionally, this and other summer Stir Cove shows are slated to be all-ages affairs, which is a change for the traditionally 21-and-older venue.

* A pair of Omaha twins are making a name for themselves in the New York City jazz scene. The Potash Twintet is the duo of 18-year-old identical twins Adeev and Ezra Potash. The twins, who are currently in music school in New York, released their six song debut release Twintuition last month and have sat in with Jonathan Batiste. Ezra plays bass trombone and Adeev plays lead trumpet on the set of tracks, while includes a guest appearance by legendary Omaha vibes player Steve Raybine. Check them out at potashtwintet.bandcamp.com.
