Backstage Entertainment Interviews All 3 Bands Performing at The Waiting Room

The Waiting Room is one to bring in some pretty big acts to Omaha and their venue with the help of 1% Productions and Tuesday, November 20th they didn’t disappoint. Hurt, Smile Empty Soul, and Black Oxygen played for a lot of fans at The Waiting Room in Omaha, NE. Hurt and Smile Empty Soul have been touring together for a little while now and Black Oxygen just jumped on the tour a few days prior.

Backstage Entertainment got to talk to all three bands during interviews that night. First, David Lyle, lead vocalist and guitarist for Black Oxygen, spoke to us just outside The Waiting Room before their set. David talked about their newest album, “The American Dream,” and how they will be in the studio in early 2013 to work on another album. Also David mentioned the closeness of the band, with the drummer being his brother, and bass player being a good friend of his.

Next we sat down with Rek Mohr and Victor Ribas, bassist and drummer for Hurt. They told us about a crazy chick the night before in Des Moines, IA, and some other fan stories that happened while touring. Rek and Victor also went into deeper explanations of their latest album, “The Crux,” and what it means to them.

Lastly, we talked to all three members of Smile Empty Soul. The guys talked about their new album, “3’s,” and how the first single was picked from the album. Also they told some funny tour stories and drew from the “BSE Box.”
