Longtime local audience favorites The Bel Airs boogie into The 21st Saloon Thursday, Jan. 24, 5:30-8:30 p.m. The Columbia, Mo., trio has been filling dance floors for over 30 years with their irresistible mix of Delta and New Orleans blues, vintage rock and R&B. The Bel Airs also play the weekly matinee at the Zoo Bar Wednesday, Jan. 23, 6-9 p.m.

21st Saloon Blues
Other shows coming up at The 21st Saloon include Texas roots-blues singer-songwriter Randy McAllister Thursday, Jan. 31. Australian blues harmonica player Harper performs Thursday, Feb. 7.  Kansas' boogie and blues artist Kelley Hunt plays Valentine's night, Thursday, Feb. 14. Thursday shows are 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Zoo Bar Music
Lincoln’s Zoo Bar is jump-starting its Thursday afternoon Country Club, hosting Americana, country and bluegrass on Thursdays 6-9 p.m. This week its bluegrass from McGovern Stringband. Honeyboy Turner Band hits the Zoo Friday, 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, catch the Latin and Cuban music of Son del Llano 6-8 p.m. Late night it’s Funk Trek and Midland Band.

Early Warnings
The Holland Performing Arts Center presents Blues at the Crossroads 2 on Wednesday, Feb. 6. The touring tribute to Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf features The Fabulous Thunderbirds with Kim Wilson, Tinsley Ellis and veteran bluesmen Jody Williams, Bob Margolin and James Cotton. See omahaperformingarts.org.

The Omaha Jitterbugs host Sugar Foot Stomp, an evening of live music and swing dancing at the House of Loom Thursday, Feb. 14, with the Street Railway Band. See jitterbugs.org.

Supergroup Royal Southern Brotherhood plugs in at Lincoln's Zoo Bar Thursday, Feb. 14, 6 p.m., and at The 21st Saloon Friday, Feb. 15, 7 p.m. The band includes guitarists Mike Zito and Devon Allman and the legendary Cyril Neville.

The Waiting Room presents Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears Friday, Feb. 15, and The North Mississippi Allstars Wednesday, Feb. 20.

The Sunday Roadhouse hosts Austin’s Will Sexton and Shannon McNally Sunday, Feb. 17, 5 p.m. at The Side Door Lounge. The concert series brings two Americana shows to The Waiting Room with Tom Russell Wednesday, Feb. 27, 7:30 p.m. and Hayes Carll Sunday, March 31, 5 p.m. See sundayroadhouse.com.

Hot Notes
Eclectic rock band Red Wanting Blue is fresh from appearances on Mountain Stage, NPR and a spot last summer on David Letterman. The Ohio band hits Omaha on their national tour, playing with Whipkey Three at the Waiting Room Thursday, Jan. 31, 9 p.m. See redwantingblue.com.
