ART LISTINGS Seeing Ourselves In Film Filmfest 2013
June 21 at 06:00 pm until 11:00 pm
In conjunction with the Omaha Gay Pride 2013 Celebration, there will be a festival of lesbian-themed independent films shown over two nights on June 21 and 22. The event will feature four of the most popular films currently available, including “the most popular film from 2012.” The other three films have been made by women for women to support the lesbian experience. The filmfest will be held in the flexspace of Unity of Omaha, 3424 N. 90th doors will open at 6:00 each night with the first film beginning at 6:30. Admission is $15.00 per night. Refreshments will be available. The films to be shown are I Can't Think Straight, Kiss Me, The Gymnast, A Perfect Ending.

Mixed Media: An Exploration of Instinct
June 27 at 05:30 pm until 08:30 pm
Artist Meghan Stevens builds her surfaces using paper and paint, forming unexpected shapes and contrasts through collage. Her densely rich textures, colors, and patterns submit to bold, precise forms layered and painted in black and white. Stevens works primarily in painting, printmaking, and collage, but always seeks out new physical media to incorporate into her work. She has exhibited in various galleries and non-traditional spaces throughout Omaha and incorporates influences from travel, film and street art, intended and accidental.

Gallery 72 is proud to present, Impressions: Selections from Stewart & Stewart Printer and Publishers of Fine Prints, 1980-Present with an opening reception on Friday, July 12 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. The exhibition features a selection of 50 prints from 30 artists who have worked at the Stewart & Stewart studios for more than 30 years. Artwork in the show will be available for purchase. The exhibition continues through August 17, 2013.
