Box Of Moonlight

“The Fantasticks” seems to be just the sort of musical that I’ve always intended to fall in love with … it’s just that no one has ever given me a reason to do so.

All that has changed with the Omaha Community Playhouse production of the poetic parable about young love confronted by the hard knocks of life. Here a top-notch cast and crew fuel a cleverly staged and costumed performance that offers a couple of big...

It’s a Wonderful Strife for Ben’s Scrooge

The Omaha Community Playhouse is running its 36th annual production of A Christmas Carol on its main stage through December 23rd. There is plenty of time to take in this holiday tradition.

The first Saturday of the production boasted a nearly full crowd who were all eagerly...

Girl’s Room Houses Secrets at BLT

You don’t have to be a mother or a daughter to fully enjoy a terrific little play called Girl’s Room. Whatever your age or gender, you can identify with the impact of each new revelation as three generations of women share secrets at the Bellevue Little Theatre.

In a bedroom pink with ballet memories and shining with dance trophies, “Girl”—that’s the name on Kate Silver’s birth certificate due to her indecisive...

Moonage Daydream

At the intersection of performance, art and performance art dwells ætherplough, the multidisciplinary company whose edgy works push the boundaries of devised theater. For this band of artists, those frontiers are most often situated light years beyond the realm of traditional theater offerings. Their latest creation, [SPACE]; or, the gods are dangerous, is no exception as it takes us on an interstellar journey in...
