Brunch is about as close to a perfect meal as a meal can get. It’s particularly nice when you don’t wake up early enough for a hearty breakfast, yet still want the option of morning foods while you have lunch. Or maybe you just like having three meals before dinner. Either way, brunch is amazing.

The Institute for the Culinary Arts and the MCC Theatre Department are having a joint production of Brunch + Threatre with Escoffier: Master of the Kitchen. On Saturday May 4th, join fellow foodies for a play about the most influential chef of all time. Back to Basics at Baxter’s

I heard mixed reviews from friends who tried Baxter’s shortly after their December 2012 opening. As Benson’s newest pizza place, I had hoped not to hear such things as: “The wait is long,” “It’s expensive,“ and, perhaps the most foreboding warning, “It’s by the slice, but it’s nothing like New York style.”

Happily, I was able to debunk some of these notions.

But let’s back up a moment.

According to the Center for Disease Control's most recent statistics on binge drinking and Trulia's list of cities with the most bars per capita, Business Insider name Omaha, the Most Hungover City, out of 25 other contenders like, Denver CO, San Antonio TX, and New Orleans LA. Omaha was listed at the top based on 8.3 bars per 10,000 households and 19.5% admitting to binge drinking. It has been a long winter.
