Local Chefs Nominated for Prestigious Awards

On a national food stage, Omaha gets little credit for our vast culinary scene and impact on the food world. However, times they are a changing and the last two years have been an amazing journey for the Omaha food community. Last week, two local chefs were nominated for the very prestigious, 2012 James Beard Awards.

Chef and Owner Clayton Chapman of The Grey Plume, nominated for Rising Star Chef of the Year and Chef Paul Kulik of The Boiler Room, nominated as Best Chef: Midwest. From local conversations to national magazines, these two chefs are some of the best in the business. We are just fortunate enough to have them in the Metro.

The reason is -- for the most part -- guests who dine out on these “hallmark-driven” holidays are stumbling their way through the evening anyway. Dunkin' Donuts, announced the signing of a multi-unit store development agreement with existing franchisees, Savoureux Corporation, for 12 new restaurants in North Omaha, Nebraska and Sioux City, Iowa with the first restaurant planned to open in 2013.
