Throughout the month of June, La Casa Pizzaria is celebrating their 60th year as one of Omaha’s favorite restaurants. They opened in 1953 and have been happily making pizza ever since. In celebration, there will be many summer specials such as Stuffed Peppers and Caprese Salad as well as weekly drawings for prizes, a new wine list and other memorabilia on display. La Casa will also debut a new beer made especially for them by the folks at Empyrean Ales proudly named “BrewCasa Sesssanta” Amber Ale.

There are many reasons why the food scene in Omaha can be described as great. But I would say that it is our connection to local food and the farmers that provide their goods and wares to be one of the strongest, greatest connections between diners, chefs, restaurants and community. So when a farm is in need of help, we can use our own resources to reach out and give back.

The Chisholm Family farm is in need your help. You have seen and probably chatted with the Chisholm family at your Farmer’s Market. Brix at Midtown Crossing is now open.

Much like the original Brix at Village Pointe, Brix at Midtown Crossing creatively brings together a full-menu Bistro, a wine and spirits retail shop and event space. Designed by owner Dan Matuszek, he states that, “the Midtown Crossing location really is more of a ‘Bistro first, retail store second concept.’ There is a lot more emphasis on the food and highlighting the talents of who we think is one of the great young chefs in Omaha, our executive chef Erik Rickard.” He continues, “the Bistro at the Midtown Crossing location also features a larger bar area for drinks and cocktails, plus 27 different premium craft beers and Sprecher Root Beer on...
