Looking for a great new sandwich spot, Firehouse Subs is announcing their first location in Omaha at 721 S. 72nd St. They are open Sunday through Thursday 10:30a.m. - 9:00p.m. and Friday and Saturday  from 10:30a.m. - 10:00 p.m. The Firehouse Sub chain is 566 stores big and was founded by firefighters yet this is the first in our area. The restaurant has a mural on the wall depicting the fire that occurred at Omaha’s Grand Central Hotel in 1878. Sunday, November 18th at Le Voltaire, Escoffier, a play and classic French food

*Le Voltaire is organizing a great theatrical Sunday afternoon. Starting with a fantastic local actor Marty Skomal, who is playing a great monologue of Auguste Escoffier, the most famous historical French Chef, who organized the kitchens as they are functioning today. Stokes Bar and Grill is switching it up and relocated their west location. They officially closed doors at their 114th and Dodge location on October 20th. They are moving to 13615 California, previously the home of Blue Agave. Stokes will open in their new home on October 27th. Crumbs: 2012 Omaha Hospitality Hall of Fame

The Omaha Hospitality Hall of Fame was created to recognize those who have given significant contributions to the hospitality industry in Omaha. Past inductees have had success as restaurant owners, chefs, food educators, food writers, purveyors and many other food related careers. Nominees into the Hall of Fame are put forth before a committee mostly comprised of past inductees and board members from the Omaha Restaurant Association. Once selected, new inductees are honored at a banquet and become one of the many faces on the Hall of Fame wall of inductees, which is located at the Institute of Culinary Arts, North Omaha campus.
