This just out from the Center of Disease Control and Prevention: More than half of all foodborne illness outbreaks in the United States are associated with restaurants, delis, banquet facilities, schools and other institutions. The CDCP’s Environmental Health Specialists Network announces four new publications on restaurant food handling practices that have been linked with foodborne illness outbreaks in restaurant settings. Celebrate Taste


The Omaha Restaurant Association is hosting "Celebrate Taste", a charity event featuring many of Omaha's Finest Chefs who will be offering a sampling of their Restaurant's menu items at Anthony's Steakhouse and Grand Ballroom, 7229 F St., on Sun., Nov 3, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. This event is in honor of friend, fellow chef and owner of Catering Creations, Jeff Snow, who was hit by a car while bicycling with his children in August. Snow sustained terrible injuries that lead to 8 days in intensive care followed by 5 weeks of hospital care. Thankfully, Snow will be back to work after the first of the year. 9th Street Tavern Now Open in Capitol District

The 9th Street Tavern and Grill is now open and located one block south of the Century Link Center at 902 Dodge St. The new sports bar and grill hosts a weekly happy hour from 4-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and offers 27 televisions tuned to all sports coverage.
