2010 homicide rate outpaces last year

Two Tuesday homicides, the 30th and 31st this year, made 2010 deadlier than 2009 with 51 days still remaining. Angelo Domena, 20, died Nov. 9 after being shot inside the Northside Apartments at 3025 Meredith Ave. Police arrested Nathan Adkins, 24, on suspicion of criminal homicide and a felony weapons charge. Robert Harden, 59, died after allegedly being beaten to death by Adam Yale, 31, inside the Legend Hotel at 1429 S. 13th St. Both Harden and Yale were tenants at the boarding house. Yale was booked for criminal homicide and use of a weapon to commit a felony. Omaha recorded 30 homicides in 2009, a significant drop from the 44 murders recorded in 2008.
