‘Social Studies’

The series of paintings and assorted documents by Omaha-based artist Laura Carlson, currently on display at the downtown branch of the Omaha Public Library, is part art exhibit, part performance, and part social experiment.  The set of eight canvases in the Michael Phipps Gallery at the W. Dale Clark branch, entitled Social Studies, are the heart of this exhibit and will be on view until July 28.

TAG Nominations Highlight This Year’s Best Efforts

            Last week, I had the pleasure of announcing the nominations for the 47th Annual Theatre Arts Guild Awards accompanied by my partner in crime Ablan Robin. It was a great chance for members all the area theatres to celebrate the accomplishments and performances from the past season.

Playhouse Honors Volunteers and Red Theater is Under the Radar

            - Awards Season kicked off last week when the Omaha Community Playhouse held its annual volunteer awards night.
